SOLUTION-FOCUSED THERAPY

This course provides an in-depth exploration of solution-focused therapy (SFT), a strengths based and goal-oriented therapeutic approach. Emphasizing collaboration and client empowerment, the course trains students in the core principles and techniques of SFT, including the use of miracle questions, scaling questions, and identifying exceptions to problems.

Students will learn how to create a positive therapeutic alliance, foster hope, and guide clients in building actionable steps toward their desired future. The course covers applications of SFT in diverse settings, such as individual counseling, family therapy, and crisis intervention. Through role-plays, case studies, and hands-on practice, students will develop the skills to effectively implement solution-focused interventions in a wide range of clinical scenarios.

Prerequisites: None, though coursework in counseling theory or techniques is recommended.
